An immense natural and unenhanced sapphire showcased in a stunning ring. The sky blue sapphire holds distict flashes of purple and is a very clean and clear. Rubover set in yellow gold with a floating halo of diamonds encircling it. The 28 old cut diamonds are bright white and with a lots of life and sparkle. A magnificently ornate gallery leading to a simple tapering D-shaped yellow gold band finishes off this perfect early 20th century stunner.
Accompanied by a report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire has had no heat treatment, and if of Sri Lankan origin.
Cut – Old single cut diamonds and an oval sapphire.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS. This is remarkably clean and clear for a sapphire of these dimensions. Totally eye clean.
Carat – The sapphire is 8.80 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.56 carat.
Circa – 1920.
Size – Currently O (UK) or 7 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire, including the bezel around it, is 14.5mm by 10.9. The whole head of the ring is 18.8mm by 15.7 and sits 7.6mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold. Stamped. The diamonds are set in platinum. Tested.
