Art Deco Cabochon Sapphire & Diamond Bar Brooch, 18k and Platinum, circa 1920

Wonderful design and workmanship on this elegant handmade bar brooch. Centred by a cushion shaped cabochon sapphire flanked either side by graduating tapered baguette sapphires. 26 old cut diamonds surround the sapphires, all set in platinum with extremely fine milgrained detailing. They simply don’t make jewellery like this anymore…

Carat – The central sapphire is estimated at 1.25 carat, with a further 0.20 carat of sapphire either side. The total estimated diamond weight across the 26 stones is 0.28 carat.

Circa – 1920.

Measurements – The bar is 55mm long and 1.3mm wide graduating to 8.5mm at the widest point.

Metal – 18k gold and platinum top.
