Art Deco 0.40 Carat Diamond & 0.21 Carat Emerald Ring, circa 1920
An almost unbearably beautiful antique emerald and diamond ring. The top the of the ring – crafted in platinum – features a row of three French cut emeralds interspaced with four old mine cut diamonds in a milgrained channel setting. Two rows of nine (eighteen total) rose cut diamonds are slightly stepped down from the centre row, above a finely pierced yellow gold gallery. The intricately shaped platinum shoulders (each set with a further rose cut diamond), leads to a slim and fluted 18k yellow gold shank.
Cut – The four main diamond in the centre row are old mine cuts. The remaining diamonds are rose cuts. The emeralds are French cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS2 to SI2.
Carat – Each of the four centre diamonds is approximately 0.05 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.40 carat. The total approximate emerald weight is 0.21 carat.
Circa – 1920.
Measurements – The head of the ring is 15.9mm across. The ring is 6.6mm at the widest point and sits 4.2mm from the finger.
Condition – A chip the top of one of the emeralds. This cannot be seen with the naked eye.
