Art Deco 0.84 Carat Old Oval Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1935
Old oval cut diamonds are very, very difficult to find, and this beautiful example takes centre stage in a charming early 20th century engagement ring. The centre diamond – graded by HRD Antwerp as I colour, SI1 clarity – is bright, lively and – crucially for an oval cut – doesn’t display the black ‘bow-tie’ effect in the centre of the stone. The diamond is secured in an eight-claw coronet collet, leading to slim and tapering shoulders which are set with eight (four each side) eight-cut diamonds, leading to a slim, platinum shank.
Accompanied by a Natural Diamond Grading Report from HRD Antwerp (#210000182419).
