Art Deco 1.46 Carat Burmese Ruby & 2.13 Carat Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1930
A trio of the finest quality gems in this exquisite vintage ruby and diamond ring. The centre stone – certified as natural and unheated, originating from Myanmar (Burma) – displays the perfect pigeon blood red, and is rubover set in milgrained yellow gold. A pair of high white and bright old European cut diamonds weighing 1.05 carat and 1.08 carat respectively, and rubover set in platinum, flank the centre stone. On a slim, knife edge yellow gold shank which splits at the shoulders. A rare and important piece.
Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indication of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut ruby with old European cut diamonds
Colour – The diamonds are G and H.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI1 and VS2.
Carat – The ruby is 1.46 carat. The diamonds are 1.05 carat and 1.08 carat.
Circa – 1930.
Size – L 1/2 (UK) or 5 7/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The ruby is approximately 7 x 6.3mm. From the outer edge of one diamond to the other is 20.1mm. The ring is 7.75mm at the widest point and sits 4.8mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. The diamonds are set in platinum. Tested.
