Art Deco 12.87 Carat Natural Greenish Yellow Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1945
An absolutely mega vintage sapphire ring. The emerald cut centre stone – certified as natural and unheated – displays unusual, striking greenish yellow and is laterally set in platinum with sixteen (eight each side) eight-cut diamonds set at the shoulders. The heavy-weight platinum shank features elongated triangles of inlayed blue enamel. A big, bold statement of a ring.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Emerald cut (with eight-cut diamonds).
Colour – Greenish yellow. The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – VS. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – 12.87, with approximately 0.20 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1945.
