Art Deco 2.28 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1920
A magnificent natural Ceylon sapphire ring. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays the most perfect blue; rich, electric, violet-ish blue. The sapphire is secured in a four claw yellow gold collet and is flanked on either side by high white old European cut diamonds, each in three claw platinum collets, leading to a slim and fluted 18k yellow gold shank. Mesmerically beautiful.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire and old European cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI2. All the stones are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is 2.28 carat. Each of the diamonds is approximately 0.14 carat.
Circa – 1920.
Measurements – The sapphire is 8.44 x 6.71mm. From the outer edge of one diamond to the other is 14mm. Sits 5.8mm from the finger.
Size – N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Metal – 18k yellow gold. The diamonds are set in platinum. Tested.
