Art Deco 24.02 Carat Natural Ceylon Cabochon Sapphire Ring, circa 1935
A monumentally beautiful ring. The large cabochon sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, without heat treatment and originating from Ceylon – is secured by four split claws in a simple double gallery. The sapphire is complemented by platinum step-down shoulders featuring alternating lines of old cut and rose cut diamonds, with French cut sapphires. Utterly mesmeric.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cabochon sapphire, with french cut sapphires in the shoulders. The diamonds are old cuts and rose cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – There are some visible inclusions in the centre sapphire. The sapphire in the shoulders are clean to the eye. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2
Carat – The sapphire is 24.02 carat with an additional approximate 0.36 carat of sapphire in the shoulders. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.25 carat.
Circa – 1935.
Size – K 1/2 (UK) or 5/38 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 17.81 x 13.14mm and sits 11.8mm from the finger.
Metal – All tests as 14k white gold apart from the diamond and sapphire set shoulders, which test as platinum.
