Art Deco 3.10 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1920
A divine natural Ceylon sapphire ring. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) displays a lovely, bright cornflower blue. The stone is secured by six platinum claws and sits within a surround of fourteen old cut and eight cut diamonds, with the four diamonds in each “corner” individually set in platinum rubover collet. The simple, vented gallery leads to a slender 18k yellow gold shank. A gloriously individual ring.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire. The diamonds are old cuts and eight-cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G to I.
Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS2 to SI1; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is approximately 3.10 carat with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.74 carat.
Circa – 1920.
Size – M (UK) or 6 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 10.4 x 6.9mm. The head of the ring is 15 x 13.4mm and sits 6.1mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold and platinum. Tested.
