Art Deco 3.15 Carat Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Necklace, circa 1915
This is so pretty it almost hurts! The bright violet-ish blue sapphire is secured in the most gorgeous handmade collet with four wide claws and a highly detailed gallery. The sapphire is connected, via a diamond set linking bar, to nine articulated diamonds in milgrained rubover settings which are fixed to a striking and unusual chain. Wonderful.
Cut – Round cut sapphire. The diamonds are eight-cut and an old European cut.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The sapphire is SI. The diamonds are VS2 to SI1; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 3.15 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.24 carat.
Circa – 1915.
Measurements – The sapphire is 9.3mm in diameter. The chain is 16 inches.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
