Art Deco 4.95 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1925
This is exceptional. The natural Ceylon sapphire is a wonderfully rich and bright blue, and is rubover set in rose gold. The cushion shaped stone is set in a square gallery, with twenty old cut diamonds in the surround and four rose cut diamonds in each corner. The diamonds are set in platinum, leading to a tapering D-shaped yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire. The diamonds are old mine / miner cuts and rose cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – There is one inclusion in the sapphire that can – just – be seen with the naked eye. The diamonds are VS.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 4.95 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.44 carat.
Circa – 1925.
Size – L (UK) or 5.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The head of the ring is approximately 15.9mm north to south and east to west. Sits 8.2mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold and platinum. Stamped.
