Art Deco 4.61 Carat Natural Ceylon Colour Change Sapphire Ring, circa 1930
An almost crazily beautiful ring. The colour change sapphire is a bright cornflower blue in natural daylight, and a glowing regal purple in incandescent light. The stone is secured in a four claw collet with four (two each side) hight white and clean baguette cut diamonds either side, with four rubover set eight-cut diamonds dotted either side of the shoulders.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire. The diamonds are eight-cuts and baguette cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The sapphire is eye clean. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is approximately 4.61 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.48 carat.
Circa – 1930.
Size – J 1/2 (UK) or 5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is approximately 11.50 x 8.02mm. The ring is 6.4mm at the widest point and sits 8.8mm from the finger
