Art Deco 5.19 Carat Natural Colour Change Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1920
A ring of pure, stripped back beauty. The oval cut natural sapphire – certified as unheated and untreated – is predominantly purple, with strong flashes of blue when exposed to incandescent light. The stone is secured in gorgeous platinum mount, with eight claw and lovely, detailing “L” shapes in the gallery, leading to a slim, platinum shank.
Accompanied by an sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no indications of heating.
Cut – Oval cut.
Colour – The sapphire appears purplish blue in daylight and blueish purple in incandescent light.
Clarity – The sapphire is clean to the naked eye.
Carat – 5.19.
Circa – 1920.
Measurements – The sapphire is 8.8 x 5.4mm. The head of the ring is 11.8 x 11.5mm and sits 8mm from the finger.
