Art Deco 6.55 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1945
A bold, beautiful late Art Deco sapphire ring. The confidently and lavishly designed ring features a rich, royal blue sapphire which is certified as natural, unheated, and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The stone is set laterally within a surround of two stacked layers of old and eight-cut diamonds in platinum, with yellow gold embellishments at the north and south of the cluster. On a generously wide 18k yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire with eight-cut and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The sapphire is SI1. The diamonds are SI1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 6.55 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.35 carat.
Circa – 1945.
Size – N (UK) or 6.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is approximately 10.9 x 8mm. The ring is 16.3mm at the widest point and sits 9.8mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold. The diamonds are set in platinum. Tested.
