Art Deco 6.80 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1940
A vintage Ceylon sapphire ring of unsurpassable quality. The sapphire – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) is the ideal cornflower blue. The stone is secured in a claw setting within a surround of twenty high white and bright eight cut diamonds. The wonderfully pierced under-gallery leads to a slender 18k yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire with eight-cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are VS1 to SI1.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 6.80 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carat.
Circa – 1940.
Size – N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.30 x 10.16mm. The ring is 17.5 x 15.5mm and sits 9.2mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold. Tested.
