Art Deco 6.93 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1940
A marvellous natural, unheated Ceylon sapphire. The oval cut centre stone – weighing in at just under seven carats – displays a vibrant cornflower blue. Twenty white eight-cut diamonds surround the sapphire in a finely crafted, but unfussy, platinum mount.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire and eight-cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – The sapphire is SI1; clean to the naked eye. The diamonds are VS1.
Carat – The sapphire is 6.93 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carat.
Circa – 1940.
Size – G (UK) or 3 3/8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.27 x 8.61mm. The head of the ring is 17.6 x 13.9mm and sits 6.5mm from the finger.
Metal – Stamped PLAT – platinum – as tests as such.
