Art Deco 6.97 Carat Burmese Ruby & 4.06 Carat Old Cut Diamond Brooch, circa 1915
A stunning unheated Burmese ruby takes centre stage in this awesome early Art Deco brooch. The natural and unheated ruby displays a strong purplish red, and is surrounded by a shaped border of 26 old European cuts diamonds. A further forty old European and eight-cut diamonds make up the rest of the design, with lattice detailing within the regal and utterly scintillating design.
Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indication of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin.
Cut – Cabochon cut ruby. The diamonds are old European cuts and eight-cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The ruby is included. The diamonds are VS1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The ruby is a known 6.97 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 4.06 carat.
Circa – 1915.
Measurements – The ruby is 11.83 x 11.45mm. The brooch is 44.1 x 35mm.
Metal – 18k yellow gold and platinum. Tested.
