Art Deco 8.23 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire Ring, circa 1920
Gloriously individual and highly, highly impressive. The natural and unheated Ceylon sapphire is a delightful cornflower blue with plenty of life and lustre. The central stone is secured in a flamboyant mount with overlapping diamond set leaves in the shoulders, to a fluted and engraved yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut sapphire. The diamonds are a mix of rose cuts and eight-cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G to I.
Clarity – The sapphire has a flaw which can be seen with the unaided eye. The diamonds are VS2 to SI2; all are clean to the eye.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 8.23 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.62.
Circa – 1920.
Size – M 1/2 (UK) or 6.25 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 15 x 11.21mm. Sits 6.5mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k white and yellow gold. Tested.
