Art Deco 8.51 Carat Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1935
Sublime. The natural, unheated Ceylon sapphire is a mesmeric cornflower blue. The stone is rubover and milgrain set in yellow gold, with sixteen high white old cut diamond set in platinum in the surround. The slim, tapering shank is topped with platinum in shoulders. High class and utterly arresting.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire, with old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to H..
Clarity – All the stones are clean to the naked eye. The diamonds are VS.
Carat – The centre sapphire is 8.51 carat, with a further approximate 1.12 carat of diamonds in the mount.
Circa – 1935.
Size – N 1/2 (UK) or 6.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.29 x 9.38mm. The head of the ring is 19.1 x 16.2. Sits 7.1 from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. The shoulders and the metal securing the diamonds are platinum.
