Art Deco Diamond & Sapphire Drop Earrings, circa 1920
Quintessentially Deco. These wonderful earrings display the classic angles and geometries of the Jazz Age. Each of the articulated earrings hold seventeen eight-cut diamonds, to a double drop of an old mine cut and an oval sapphire (which is rubover set in yellow gold).
Cut – The lower most diamond in each earring is an old mine cut. The rest of the diamonds are eight-cuts. The sapphires are oval cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – All the stone are clean to the naked eye. VS1 to VS2.
Carat – Each sapphire is approximately 0.55 carat. The overall approximate diamond weight is 0.72.
Circa – 1920.
Measurements – From top to bottom, not including the fishhook, is 36.5mm.
Metal – Platinum. The sapphires are set in 18k yellow gold. Tested.
