Art Deco Natural Pearl & 3.60 Carat Old Cut Diamond Pin Brooch, circa 1920
A mightily impressive and important piece. The large natural saltwater pearl is set within a cluster of twelve high white old mine cut diamonds in cut-back settings. The split bar is balanced by an old European cut diamond rubover set at either end. Pure quality.
Accompanied by a report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory (London) stating the pearl is natural, saltwater.
Cut – Old mine cut diamonds around the pearl, with old European cut diamonds in the bar.
Colour – The diamonds are G.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to SI1; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – Each of the twelve diamonds around the pearl is approximately 0.25 carat. The two diamonds in the bar are approximately 0.30 carat each. An overall estimated 3.60 carat total.
Circa – 1930.
Measurements – The pearl is approximately 8.8 x 11.3mm. The bar is 74.5mm. The centre cluster is 19.4 x 16.5mm.
Metal – Platinum. The pearl is backed in 18k yellow gold. Tested.
