Early Victorian Natural Pearl & Diamond Pendant, circa 1850
This remarkable early Victorian pendant features a natural antique pearl of a creamy lustre and a natural “teardrop” shape. Set in a silver collet which is set with nine rose cut diamonds. A 0.08 carat old mine cut diamond set hoop link the pendant to the chain. A simple and refined piece, beautifully preserved, and utterly unique.
Cut – Diamonds are rose cuts. The larger stone is a cushion shaped old mine cut.
Colour – Diamonds are H.
Clarity – Diamonds are VS
Carat – Total diamond weight is estimated at 0.26 carat.
Circa – 1850.
Measurements – The pearl, including the setting and the hoop, is 27mm by 9mm. Chain is 18 inches.
Metal – The pendant is silver, as is common in early Victorian jewels. The chain is 9k yellow gold.
