Edwardian 6.86 Carat Ceylon Cabochon Sapphire Ring, circa 1910
A glowing, almost otherworldly vintage sapphire ring. The cabochon sapphire in the centre – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays an enchanting cornflower blue. The stone is secured in by four double claws with gorgeous detailing in the gallery. The slim, D-shaped shank splits at the shoulders and topped by a diamond-set milgrained ‘leaf’. Stunningly unique.
Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
