Edwardian 65.00 Carat Natural Unheated Cabochon Ruby Pendant, circa 1910
Natural, unheated rubies of this size are incredibly rare. This dramatic pendant features a dark purplish red ruby – certified as untreated – rubover and milgrain set in platinum. Forty-two rose cut diamonds, each in their own milgrained rubover setting – surround the main stone and connects to a fixed hoop set with thirteen rose cut diamonds. The platinum chain threads through a moveable bale (set with a further six rose cuts).

Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the ruby shows no indication of heating.
Cut – Round cabochon ruby with rose cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS2 to SI2.
Carat – The ruby is approximately 65.00 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.80 carat.
