Edwardian 9.35 Carat Natural Yellow & Blue Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1910
An unbelievably beautiful and unique gem. The natural and unheated sapphire is blue at the edges, with a distinct yellow stripe running through the middle; at the some angles the stone is mostly blue, sometimes mostly yellow and sometimes – when the colours merge – mostly green. This wonderful stone is secured in an equally wonderful mounting, with fifty-four diamonds pavé set in the shoulders and gallery – including four at the tip of each claw. Fine milgraining and decorative etching along the shank add the finishing touch to this early 20th century masterpiece.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmoligical Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is of basaltic origin.
