Edwardian Colombian Emerald & Diamond Pendant, circa 1910
The main feature of this majestic and striking pendant is the special cut 2.14 carat Colombian emerald of a glowing grassy green hue. The emerald is rubover set within a intricate and delicately pierced platinum surround, which holds 18 rose cut, old cut and eight cut diamonds. The bottom half of the pendant is suspended from a pierced and etched hoop set with a further four diamonds. Fine and elegant.
Cut –The emerald is a step faceted special cut. The diamonds are a mix of rose cut, eight cuts and old cuts.
Colour – Diamonds are F.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS. As is common with emerald, there are some visible inclusions.
Carat – The emerald is 2.14ct. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.25 carat.
Circa – 1910.
Measurements – Including the hoop, the pendant is 28.5mm long and 14mm wide. The chain (which is not original to the pendant) is 16 inches.
Metal – Platinum. Tested.
