Edwardian Natural Pearl Parrot Pin Brooch, circa 1900

Imperfection transformed into perfection. The natural pearl is wildly off shape with a distinct dark blemish. But here it fits perfectly as the wing on a beautifully realised parrot pin. With a ruby eye and finely hand engraved feathering to the head and the reverse body.

Presented in the original box.

The pin is 18k yellow gold. The the parrot is 22k yellow gold. Tested.

The pearl is 22.6 x 9.1mm. Overall length of the pin is 5cm.
