Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Checkerboard Plaque Ring, circa 1905

This is seriously, seriously cool. Set with 17 diamonds and 18 sapphires in a checkerboard formation. All the gems are set in silver (typical of jewellery from the era) which has oxidised making the stones really stand out and pop. The beautifully ornate gallery and shoulders lead to a fine split shank. A delightful one-of-a-kind.

Cut – Cushion shaped sapphire and old mine / miner cut diamond.

Colour – Diamonds are H.

Clarity – The gems range from VS to SI; all are clean to the naked eye.

Carat – Approximately 0.51 carat of diamond, and 0.90 carat of sapphire.

Circa – 1905.

Size – U 1/2 (UK) or 10.5 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can go up or down.

Measurements – The plaque is 17.9mm by 13.9mm and sits 4.75mm from the finger.

Metal – 14k gold. The top of the ring is in platinum.
