Art Deco Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Pin Brooch, circa 1935
A strikingly beautiful pin brooch. The central cabochon sapphire is a lively, royal blue with two graduating lines of midnight blue calibré cut sapphires stretching either side of the main stone. The sapphires are framed in a delicately pierced and milgrained surround and set with ten old cut diamonds. Two further rubover set diamonds of approximately 0.20 carat accent the ends. A treasure.
Cut – Old mine cuts. The central sapphire is a round cabochon with calibré cut sapphires either side.
Colour – Diamond are G.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1. The sapphire are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The central sapphire is approximately 0.35 carat, with an estimated 0.52 carat either side. The total approximately diamond weight is 0.52 carat.
Circa – 1910.
Condition – One of the calibré sapphires has small chip.
Measurements – 63.25mm long. The brooch is 10.5mm at the widest point.
Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
