Georgian Emerald, Old Cut Diamond & Rose Cut Diamond Cross Pendant, circa 1800
A spectacular cross pendant which bursts with history and character. At the cross’s heart is a bright, verdant green emerald set in yellow gold, with ten rose cut diamonds in the immediate surround. The ornate, stylised arms are encrusted with eight cushion shaped old cut diamonds and twenty-eight rose cut diamonds in oxidised silver, to a fixed, diamond set bale. Backed in 9k rose gold.

Cut – Square cut emerald with old mine cut and rose cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamond are G to J.
Clarity – There are some visible inclusion to the emerald (to be expected in emeralds). The diamonds range from VS2 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The emerald is approximately 0.27 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 1.20 carat.
Circa – 1800.
Measurements – Including the fixed bale, the cross is 47.5 x 30.1mm (approximately 1.9 x 1.2 inches)
Metal – The diamonds are in silver. The back of the pendant is 9k gold. (Both tested.) The chain, not original to the piece, will be hallmarked 18k gold.
