HENNELL 6.00 Carat Old Cut Diamond & Amethyst Barrette, circa 1925
A glamorous and bold barrette from one of the most important Bond Street jewellers. Hennell was originally established is 1736 and quickly grew to be one of Britain’s most reknowned jewellers, supplying royalty and nobility for over 200 years. This barrette is a fantastic example of their early Art Deco work. Set with two wholloping amethysts and forty-four old cut diamonds in an almost industrial looking design. Big, bold and striking.
Cut – Emerald cut amethysts and old cut diamonds
Colour – Diamonds are high white; F-G.
Clarity – Diamonds range from VS2 to SI2.
Carat – The amethyst are approximately 18 carat each. The total estimated diamond weight is 6.00 carat
Circa – 1930.
Measurements – 50mm across and 22mm wide. Not including the pins, the brooch is 15.5mm “deep.”
Metal – 18k yellow gold. The diamonds are set in platinum.
