Mid Century 0.86 Carat Transitional Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1950
An exceptional vintage diamond solitaire ring. The round transitional cut diamond in the centre is eye-poppingly white and bright with plenty of life and fire. The stone is a secured in an eight-claw open collet above a scalloped back-plate, with stylised leaf detailing in the platinum shoulders which leads to a slim, 18k yellow gold shank.

Cut – Transitional cut diamond in the centre with eight-cuts in the shoulders.
Colour – F in the centre. The diamonds in the shoulders are H to I.
Clarity – The centre stone is SI2. The diamonds in the shoulders are VS2 to SI1. All the stones are clear to the naked eye.
Carat – Approximately 0.86 carat in the centre with a further approximate 0.09 carat in the shoulders.
Circa – 1950.
Size – L (UK) or 5.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The diamond is approximately 6.2mm in diameter. The ring is 10.1mm at the widest point and sits 7.6mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow gold (stamped 18CT). The top of the ring is platinum (tested).
