Mid Century 1.01 Carat Old Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1955
A splendid Mid-Century diamond engagement ring with distinct echoes of the Art Deco age. The central old mine cut diamond is claw and star-set in a square setting with milgraining at the edges. The central diamond sits proudly on the finger with fine piercing in the platinum gallery and is flanked by step-down shoulders featuring twelve (six either side) eight-cut diamonds to a slim white gold shank.

Cut – Old mine cut diamond in the centre, with eight-cut diamonds in the shoulders.
Colour – The centre stone is J, with G to H stones in the shoulders.
Clarity – The centre stone is VS2. The diamonds in the shoulders are SI1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The centre is a known 1.01 carat, with an estimated 0.36 carat in the shoulders.
Circa – 1955.
Size – P 1/2 (UK) or 7.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The head of the ring is approximately 8.9 x 8.8mm. Sits 7.8mm from the finger.
Metal – Stamped PLAT & 18CT – the head of the ring is platinum on an 18k yellow gold shank – and tests as such.
