Mid Century 1.17 Carat Old Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1955
A high-class and unique vintage engagement ring. The old mine cut diamond in the centre displays a distinct bright yellow, and is secured in an eight-claw open collet above a scalloped back-plate. The bold, dramatically shaped platinum shoulders feature buckle style detailing and are studded with four (two either side) eight cut diamonds, leading to a slim, 18k yellow gold shank.

Cut – Old mine cut in the centre, with eight-cut diamonds in the shoulders.
Colour – Light yellow (O) in the centre. The diamonds in the shoulders are H to I.
Clarity – VS2. (The diamonds in the shoulders are VS1 to VS2).
Carat – A known 1.17 carat in the centre, with an additional approximate 0.10 carat in the shoulders.
Circa – 1955.
Size – M (UK) or 6 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The diamond is approximately 6 x 6.7mm and sits 8.1mm from the finger.
Metal – Stamped PLAT 18CT – 18k yellow gold and platinum – and tests as such.
