Mid Century 1.63 Carat Rose Cut & Old Cut Diamond Drop Necklace, circa 1950
A splendid and unique vintage diamond necklace. The rose cut diamond at the bottom of the drop displays a clear yellow hue, and is secured in an eight claw French collet with an open gallery and a scalloped backplate. Five white old mine cut diamonds of graduating size are rubover and milgrain set in individual and articulated collets, leading to a 16 inch white gold trace chain.

Cut – Rose cut at the bottom. The five smaller stones are old mine cuts.
Colour – The rose cut diamond is fancy yellow. The smaller diamonds are G to H.
Clarity – The rose cut is SI2 (clean to the naked eye). The old mine cuts are SI1 to SI2,
Carat – The rose cut is a known 1.23 carat, with a total approximate carat weight of 1.63.
Circa – 1950.
Measurements – The rose cut is 7.2 x 7.4mm. The pendant, from top to bottom, is 28mm. The chain is 16 inches (40cm).
Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
