Mid Century 16.50 Carat Natural Black Opal Cocktail Ring, circa 1950

There are statement rings, and then there is this. An entirely natural black opal with an impressive play of colour; green, orange, red and blue. The stone is claw set in a mount set with 24 high white eight-cut diamonds in an intricately pierced gallery. Fleur de lis motifs at the shoulders leads to flat white gold shank. Mega!

Cut – Oval shaped cabochon and eight-cut diamonds.

Colour – Diamonds are G.

Clarity – Diamonds are VS1 to SI1 and are all clean to the naked eye.

Carat – The opal is 16.5o carat, with an estimated 1.68 carat of diamonds.

Circa – 1950.

Size – Q (UK) or 8 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.

Measurements – The head of the ring is 25.2mm by 21.1mm and sits 13.5mm from the finger.

Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
