Mid Century 4.85 Carat Ceylon Sapphire Solitaire Ring, circa 1950
A glowing Ceylon sapphire in this stripped back, yet striking, ring. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a bright, cornflower blue and is secured in a six claw yellow gold setting with ‘V’ detailing in the gallery. Sits as low to the finger as the stone will allow, on a slim and tapering yellow gold shank.
Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Oval cut.
Clarity – Eye clean.
Carat – 4.85.
Circa – 1950.

Measurements – The sapphire is 10.1 x 6.9mm and sits 7.4mm from the finger.
