Mid Century 5.18 Carat Natural Colour Change Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Ring, circa 1970
A wonderful, daring – and frankly slightly bonkers colour change sapphire and diamond cluster ring. The central sapphire – certified as natural and unheated – displays a rich blue in daylight and a deep, regal blue in incandescent light. Twelve old mine cut diamonds surround the centres stone, with flamboyant wired spring-like detailing in the surround. A further six (three either side) old cut diamonds are set at the shoulders, leading to a split, wired shank. Such an exciting ring.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Madagascan in origin.
