Mid Century 5.18 Carat Natural Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1960
A seriously impressive vintage sapphire ring. The sapphire in the centre – certified as natural and unheated – displays a clear colour change; blue in daylight, purple in artificial light. The sapphire is surrounded by twelve old mine cut diamonds in a coronet setting, leading to trefoil shoulders through to a slim D-shaped shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are I to J.
Clarity – The sapphire is loupe clean. The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 5.18 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.84 carat.
Circa – 1960.
Size – N (UK) or 6.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 9.5 x 7.9mm. The ring is 17.8 x 15.9mm and sits 8.8mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. Tested.
