Mid Century 8.73 Carat Natural Ceylon Cabochon Sapphire & Diamond Ring, circa 1960
A truly glowing cabochon sapphire ring. The centre stone – certified as natural and unheated, originating from Ceylon – is a luminous dusty blue. The stone is rubover set in yellow gold and surround by twenty-four round brilliant cut diamonds, each in its own platinum rubover setting. Fine scrolling detail in the gallery, leads to a slim yellow gold shank with narrowing, fluted shoulders.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cabochon cut sapphire and round brilliant cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 8.73 carat with approximately 0.45 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1960.
Size – L (UK) or 5.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The sapphire is 11.98 x 10.72mm and sits 8.6mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k yellow and platinum. Tested.
