Mid Century Ruby & Diamond Target Cluster Earrings, circa 1960
A striking pair of ruby and diamond earrings. Each earring is centred by a bright – almost glowing – pinkish red ruby, rubover set with sixteen eight-cut diamonds in the surround. The clusters hang from an articulated bar featuring three rubover set baguette cut diamonds, set securely to the reverse with a post and butterfly.
Cut – Round cut rubies with eight-cut and baguette cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The baguette cut diamonds are VS2 to SI1. The eight-cuts are SI1 to SI2; all are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – Each ruby is approximately 0.40 carat (0.80 carat total), with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.44 carat.
Circa – 1960.
Measurements – The earrings are 14.9mm top to bottom. Each target is approximately 10mm in diameter.
Metal – 18k white gold. Tested.
