Retro 1.65 Carat Old European Cut Diamond Engagement Ring, circa 1945

An extremely lively and bright old European cut diamond in a wonderful statement setting. The diamond is mounted low within a white gold illusion setting, leading to an open gallery. Ornate shoulders featuring six (three either side) eight cut diamonds within a milgrained and etched surround. Splendidly chunky.

Clarity – I1. Some inclusions are just about visible to the naked eye, but this does not impact on the vibrancy of the diamond.

Carat – A known 1.65 in the centre. An additional approximate 0.05 carat in the shoulders.

Measurements – The diamond is 7.8mm in diameter. The setting is 11mm in diameter and sits 6.1mm from the finger.
