Retro 15.20 Carat Natural Ceylon Yellow Sapphire Ring, circa 1960
The most impressive of natural yellow sapphires takes centres stage in this most impressive of rings. The cushion shaped centre stone – certified as natural and unheated, originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – displays a bright, intense golden yellow. The stone is rubover with twelve round brilliant and eight-cut diamonds at either end. The basketwork gallery is beautifully and precisely executed, and continues all the way into the D-shaped shank at the base.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut sapphire and round brilliant cut and eight-cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are F to G.
Clarity – The sapphire is SI. The diamonds are VS1 to VS2.
Carat – The sapphire is a known 15.20 carat, with approximately 0.18 carat of diamonds.
Circa – 1960.
Size – P 1/2 (UK) or 7.75 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down. There is some limit to how much this can be sized, so please contact us before ordering.
Measurements – The sapphire is 12.48 x 11.72mm. The ring is 24.2mm at the widest point and sits 11.2mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. Tested.
