Victorian 0.56 Carat Old Cut Diamond & Turquoise Enamel Brooch, circa 1870

Just the prettiest brooch. The stylised eight pronged star is set with a very lively old mine cut diamond in the centre and a further ten rose cuts in the rays. The main part of the brooch is enameled to replice turquiose. With rope detailsing around the centre “stone” and glorious swirling metal work around the outside. Closed backed.
Cut – The middle diamond is an old mine / miner cut. The other stones are rose cuts.
Colour – I.
Clarity – SI; no flaws are visible to the naked eye.
Carat – The central stone is approximately 0.40 carat. The total diamond weight is estimated at 0.56 carat
Circa – 1870.
Measurements – 34mm by 26mm
Metal – 9k gold. The diamonds are set in silver. Tested.
