Victorian 0.80 Carat Natural Burmese Spinel & Diamond Ring, circa 1880
An exceptional Victorian spinel ring. The bright, glowingly red spinel – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Myanmar (Burma) – is set within a surround of fourteen old mine cut diamonds in a finely pierced coronet setting crafted in high karat yellow gold. On a wide, reverse tapering, flat, gold shank.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the spinel shows no indication of heating, and is Burmese (Myanmar) in origin.
Cut – Cushion cut spinel and old cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are I to J.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.
Carat – The spinel is approximately 0.80 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.56 carat.
Circa – 1880.
Size – P (UK) or 7.5 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The spinel is approximately 6.7 x 6.3mm. The head of the ring is 10.2 x 10.1 and sits 4.3mm from the finger.
Metal – 21k gold. Tested.
