Victorian 0.96 Carat Old Cut Diamond Drop Earrings, circa 1870
A beautiful pair of late Victorian diamond drop earrings. The main body of each earring is set with five old cut diamonds, with the larger central stone set higher than the rest, and three small rose cut diamonds at each point. A larger diamond hangs from the bottom in a cut-away setting. All the gems are set in slightly oxidised silver, with the reverse and hooks in 18k yellow gold.
Cut – Old mine cuts (and three small rose cuts in each earring).
Colour – G to H.
Clarity – VS2 to SI1; all the stones are clean to the eye.
Carat – The diamond drops are approximately 0.21 carat each, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.96 carat.
Circa – 1870.
Measurements – From the top diamond to the bottom is 22.3mm.
Metal – Silver backed in 18k yellow gold. Tested.
