Victorian 1.25 Carat Purple Tourmaline & Old Cut Diamond Navette Cluster Ring, circa 1890
A delight of a ring. The marquise shaped purple tourmaline is rubover set and surrounded by sixteen bright and lively old cut diamonds. The fine hand-sawn gallery leads to a slim yellow gold shank with fine engraving on the shoulders.
Cut – Marquise shaped tourmaline. The diamonds are old cuts.
Colour – The diamonds are H to I.
Clarity – The tourmaline is clean to the naked eye. The diamonds range from VS1 to SI2. All are clean to the naked eye.
Carat – The tourmaline is approximately 1.25 carat. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.40 carat.
Circa – 1890.
Condition – A small chip at one end of the tourmaline. This can – only just – be seen with the naked eye.
Size – O 1/2 (UK) or 7.25 (US). Complimentary sizing is available, can go up or down.
Measurements – The head of the ring is 19.1 x 9mm. Sits 4.1mm from the finger.
Metal – Stamped 18 – 18k yellow gold – and tests as such.
