Victorian 18.13 Carat Natural Ruby & Old Cut Diamond Earrings, circa 1890
Just the most awesome pair of Victorian ruby earrings. To find one natural and unheated ruby of this size is rare – to find two that are this well matched is nothing short of miraculous. The gorgeous, pigeon blood red stones are rubover within a surround of twenty white and bright old mind cut diamonds in a pierced coronet setting. Secured with flamboyant “onion” screw back settings.
Accompanied by a ruby report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the rubies show no indication of heating, and originate from Mozambique.
Cut – Oval cut rubies and old mine cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds are G to I.
Clarity – The diamonds are SI1 to SI2.
Carat – The rubies are 9.41 carat and 8.72 respectively. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.80 carat.
Circa – 1890.
Measurements – Each ruby is 14.78 x 12.90mm and 15.06 x 12.77mm. Each earring is approximately 21 x 19mm
Metal – 18k gold. Tested.
