Victorian 42 Inch Yellow Gold Longuard Chain, circa 1850

An exceptional antique Victorian yellow gold longuard chain.

Each link on this belcher style chain is embellished with a knotted rope detail; an incredible craftsmanship that simply can’t be found in more modern pieces. By virtue of its length, this can be worn or a two or three strand necklace.

As there are no hallmarks on the piece, the metal has been tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyser) and verified as 17k gold.
