Victorian Cabochon Sapphire & Old Cut Diamond Cluster Ring, circa 1880
This lovely Victorian ring is absolutely alive with character and charm. The smooth deep blue cabochon sapphire is set in contrast to the white cushion shaped old cut diamonds in the surround. A simple split gallery (with the top half in silver) leads to a tapering yellow gold band. A delight.
Cut – Oval shaped cabochon sapphire with old mine / miner cut diamonds.
Colour – The diamonds a G to H
Clarity – The sapphire is eye-clean. The diamonds are VS.
Carat – The sapphire is approximately 2.00 carat, with a total approximate diamonds weight of 0.60 carat.
Circa – 1880.
Condition – Four of the old cut diamonds are not original.
Size – O (UK) or 7 (US). Complementary sizing is available, can be sized up or down.
Measurements – The cluster is 14mm by 10.2mm and sits 6.4mm from the finger.
Metal – 18k gold. The gems are set in silver. Tested.
